Project: “Experience South Korea” Travel Campaign

Goal: To repurpose a complex double-exposure artwork into a high-impact travel flyer that promotes South Korean tourism by blending cultural icons with modern design.
My Role: Layout Designer and Content Strategist. My responsibility was to expand upon an initial artistic concept, integrating additional research and secondary visual elements to create a functional piece of promotional collaterals
Design Strategy & Research: The project began with a central double-exposure image featuring K-pop artist Kim Taehyung integrated with the Hibiscus syriacus (South Korea’s national flower) and historical architecture from Daegu.

  • Visual Hierarchy: I researched additional regional imagery to create a broader narrative of the country. I strategically placed these elements to “hook” the viewer’s attention before guiding their eyes toward the informational text and call-to-action (web address).
  • Symbolism & Palette: To ground the flyer in a sense of national identity, I used the South Korean flag as a primary design motif. I repurposed the flag’s symbols as bullet points and utilized its distinct color palette (red, blue, and black) to create a balanced, patriotic, and professional aesthetic.

The Result: The final flyer is a cohesive blend of tradition and modernity. By merging fan-culture icons with deep-rooted historical symbols, the design appeals to a wide demographic. The result is a visually arresting piece that effectively communicates the beauty, history, and modern allure of South Korea, enticing the reader to learn more.
